Admission Regulations

Minimum entry qualifications for NTA - 4 Minimum entry qualification for Basic Technician Certificate (Level 4) is Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with a minimum pass of “C” grade in the following three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or students in Technical Secondary Education with a minimum pass of “C” in all technical Subjects and Mathematics or a student with pre-entry certificate provided by the KIST(or any recognised Institution) or a student with NVTA Level 3 may be considered subject to availability of vacancies.

Candidates may join the Institute’s programmes through the direct entry scheme awarded to the students with a minimum pass of C and need to apply direct to the Institute or through pre-entry course for NTA level 4 which is conducted at the Institute.

Minimum entry qualifications for Pre-entry NTA– 4 (For 3 months)

Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with a minimum pass of four (4) “D” grade in four of the following subjects: Physics (Engineering Science), Chemistry, Mathematics and English or students in Technical Secondary Education with a minimum pass of two (2) “D” in technical Subjects and Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry.

Minimum entry qualifications for Pre-entry NTA– 4 (For 9 months)

Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with a minimum pass of three (3) “D” grade in four of the following subjects: Physics (Engineering Science), Chemistry, Mathematics and English and those who fail in three months Pre-entry Course or students in Technical Secondary Education with a minimum pass of two (2) “D” in technical Subjects and one (1) “D” in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or English. Vocational Training Award Level III (NVTA Level III) Minimum entry qualifications for ICT Foundation Course Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with a minimum pass of four (4) “D” grade in any subject taught in Form Four, regardless Art or Science.

Other Important Information Related to Admission Registration

All eligible students are requested to pay their due and registration fees within two weeks (18 August 2014) after commencement of academic year. No late registration after two weeks of a new academic year or semester. Late student shall wait till the next academic year or semester.

Registration is compulsory for ALL students entering a new academic year, i.e. fresh students or student progressed from current level to the next level of award. Un-registered students and students attend second semester classes after failed first semester, shall not be considered as a student to that particular academic year. Student who has postponed studies will be required to report at the corresponding time and semester similar to that left behind.

Students are not allowed to change respective field of study at the middle of any semester except for exceptional circumstances brought forward to the Director’s Office. For fresh students, students may change field of study between them before the second week after commencement of the new academic year.
